Parent Teams
PTA Parent Teams are formed at the start of each school year. These are volunteer-based positions and a great way for parents to get involved in our Westbrook and Glen Grove school communities. Parent Teams work closely with the PTA Board Members to organize events and fundraisers, plan classroom parties, create yearbooks, and much more! Whether you can commit to a lot or a little, we invite you to join us!
Team Descriptions
Sponsorship Team
The sponsorship team contacts local businesses to request sponsorship in exchange for advertisement through the PTA.
Fundraising Team
This team plans activities to bring the community together while raising funds for the PTA. New ideas and fundraising experience are always welcome.
Spirit Night Team
You will connect with local restaurants to set up give-back nights, where a percentage of sales benefits PTA. One to two spirit nights are scheduled each month.
Spiritwear Team
You will connect with a local spiritwear company, decide on designs and merchandise, and coordinate with the provider to offer in-person sales and online sales and bulk delivery to the schools.
Westbrook Yearbook Team
This team creates the Westbrook yearbook! You will take photos, collect photos, create digital collages, and order the books.
Glen Grove Yearbook Team
This team creates the Glen Grove yearbook! You will take photos, collect photos, create digital collages, and order the books.
Classroom Party Planning Team
This team will create grade-appropriate party plans for the Fall, Winter, and Valentine's Day parties for both schools. This team is responsible for developing game/craft instructions, purchasing all supplies, and communicating with Room Reps for party execution.
Assembly Planning Team
This team will select and make all arrangements for the multiple all-school assemblies for Westbrook and Glen Grove. Existing company contacts will be shared, but we are always looking new ideas for student engagement.
Westbrook Book Fair Team
Working in conjunction with the LRC Directors, this team will organize a sign-up for volunteers, help work the event(s) (daytime availability needed), and help with setup, tear down, and cash management.
Glen Grove Book Fair Team
Working in conjunction with the LRC Directors, this team will organize a sign-up for volunteers, help work the event(s) (daytime availability needed), and help with setup, tear down, and cash management.
Garden Team
This team plants and maintains the school gardens at both Westbrook and Glen Grove so our students can enjoy beautiful green spaces.
Food Drive Team
OCTOBER - You will collect donated canned food and other pantry items from the schools and transport to a local Food Pantry. A count of donated items and update of a simple spreadsheet is also required.
Veterans Day Team
NOVEMBER - You will organize a Veteran's Day event at one of the schools to which local Veterans will be invited.
Holiday Helpers Team
NOVEMBER/DECEMBER -
Holiday Helpers help Westbrook and Glen Grove families in need. This team will create and manage a sign-up to allow families to sponsor a family in need. This team will manage and distribute the items that come in.
Staff Appreciation Team
MAY - Team members will create and execute a week-long schedule of appreciation activities coinciding with National Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week.
5th Grade Picnic Team
MAY - PE Teachers and Classroom Teachers help to organize the activities of this event, and we need you to help organize the food, treats, and volunteers for this milestone event!
