Connect. Support. Enrich. Create.
These words guide our agenda each year. We begin by looking at the needs and climate of our school community, then create experiences and opportunities to connect, support, and enrich that community. Below are examples of the past, while looking ahead we see the need for new forms of connection. Remote learning is still a new world, so we created an imaginative calendar of virtual Fall events that can be enjoyed by students, parents, teachers, and staff together, as shared experiences. And we are not done yet. PTA will continue to keep a pulse on the needs of the school community, and generate new opportunities for engagement as they arise. Stay tuned!
We look forward to a year like no other!

We fund teacher grants supporting curriculum, classroom, and program needs.
We coordinate multiple cultural arts assemblies, offering all students exposure to music, dance, live entertainment, and more.
We fund parent education programming, including a significant contribution to D34 ParentConnect Speakers + Discussion Groups.
We provide funding to host visiting authors, who inspire all students to expand their literacy and writing skills.
Our parent volunteers create yearbooks for both schools and handle ordering and distribution as well.
We fund and create teacher appreciation opportunities, such as meals, videos, messages, and other forms of thanks.
We create and fund community events for both schools, such as Ice Cream Socials, Book Fairs, International Nights, Veteran's Day Breakfasts, and more.
We support community programs and organizations, such as Debra Gelfand Foundation, Character Counts Food Drive, and Holiday Helpers.
We organize spirit nights at local shops and businesses, encouraging families to support local businesses.
We provide maintenance funding for GEF-funded grants, such as the Every-Child-Can-Ride program (teaching all first graders to ride bicycles).
We design and sell spirit wear t-shirts, sweatshirts, water bottles and more, which students and teachers use to show school spirit.
We coordinate school supply kits, offering families a convenient school supply solution.
We provide funding for rainy day and indoor recess supplies, or other similar requests from the schools.
And there is no end to this list -- it is our mission to connect the Westbrook and Glen Grove School Community.
Even in the midst of a pandemic, we will continue that mission by generating new ways to enrich the lives of all children, families, and staff at our schools.
Your financial and volunteer support makes all of this possible. Thank you to the Westbrook and Glen Grove parents and teachers who support PTA in whatever way they can. You make great things happen!
